Bodegas Almijara
Small-batch production from the sun-baked vineyards of the Axarquía highlands
Placeholder entry. Bodegas Almijara works with the indigenous varieties that have made the Axarquía region quietly famous for centuries: Moscatel de Alejandría and Pedro Ximénez, grown at altitude on the distinctive slate soils that give the wines their distinctive mineral character.
The bodega produces both a dry Moscatel and a range of sweet wines, including a Pajarete that would stop even a non-sweet-wine drinker in their tracks. Visits by appointment only — call ahead.
