VinumPlay occupies a sweet spot that few places in Málaga manage: a wine bar and shop in one, just steps from La Malagueta beach. The location alone earns it a place on the list — but there’s a genuinely compelling reason to visit beyond the sea view.

Four enomatic machines serve up to 16 bottles at a time, including premium wines, available in three glass sizes: a sample, a small, and a medium pour. It’s the kind of setup that lets you properly explore wines you’d be reluctant to commit to a full bottle of, and the quality of producers represented is generally solid.

The retail selection is more focused — primarily Spanish wines from the main regions, with Rioja and Ribera del Duero well represented alongside whites and rosés and a small showing from the Málaga DO. Prices to drink in carry a significant mark-up over retail, though bottles to take home are available at a discount. Staff are attentive and welcoming, though specialist knowledge is limited. A tapas menu rounds out the experience.
