Vinalium Malaga

Small in size, serious about wine — and worth the trip across the city.

Location Málaga · Soho
Best for Expert advice, wide range across all budgets, gifts, chilled wines to go

One of the finest wine shops in Málaga isn’t the biggest one. Tucked into the Soho neighbourhood, Vinalium is compact, carefully stocked, and run by an owner whose knowledge of her selection is genuinely hard to match — the kind of place that becomes a regular stop once you’ve discovered it.

The range covers the major Spanish regions with real depth: two shelves each of Rioja and Ribera del Duero, three of mixed reds from Toro, Bierzo, Málaga and beyond, two of Spanish whites, a focused international section covering Argentina, Italy and France, and a curated corner of sparkling, sweet, fortified and spirits. A fridge of chilled whites and sparkling wines rounds things out — useful when you want something ready to drink that evening.

What sets Vinalium apart is the service. The owner has tried nearly everything in stock, quickly understands what you’re looking for, and gives recommendations that actually land. Prices are honest and competitive — close to what you’d find with major online retailers — and returns on faulty bottles are handled without fuss. There’s also a small table in the shop where you can open a bottle on the spot for a modest corkage fee, a rare and welcome touch.
